Social Awareness

che-che bureche

As i opened the tv this morning, what caught my attention was not their discussion on home tips and parenting. One of the hosts mentioned that one of the signs that something is wrong with one's body is fever - it tells, or so he says, that an infection or serious illness exists. Nowadays that demonstration and rallies left and right, he compared that our government or the people running it, might be suffering from a serious illness that must be cured immediately, otherwise it would be too late.

Siting for example the death penalty law.No one in his sound mind would implement or lift this law (or presendential decree, whatever) as he wishes. Families of the convicted (penalized by this law) are still griefing for the loss of their loved ones. They feel injustice simply because the president or the government could have lifted it by the time their relative was still under trial. On the other hand, victims of these heinous crimes and their families are also clamoring for fair and just verdict. Well, the latter case needs no explanation why.

Personally, I feel that whatever is applicable to minimize or even stop these criminals and keep our country safe place to live in, must be implemented. These laws were promulgated for the common good. However, as what has been said, the law shall apply to all or none at all. The government has to make up its mind whether to settle for death penalty law or not. We are humans and so are the criminals and the victims. We cannot play with lives.

We are not God.

i dunno if i'm for or against on this one. pareho namang may magandang reasons kung bakit kailangan or hindi.

Sweet is the memory of distant friends! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart.
