Great Book

Dax

I finished reading this great book last Monday. It was my Christmas gift from Gigi. She did choose well. I remember we were discussing of venturing out to some other books, for we always read fiction books. I remember telling her about the books Noside sent me, the whole Bob Ong books, you know about things in life and all that. hehehe... We even tried looking up Robert Fulghum. But then we didn't get to check him out because I couldn't remember his last name when we were at the bookstore.

anyway, the book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It is about following your own dreams no matter what. I remember I cried when I read just the introduction of the book. (Or maybe I was just emotional in the mornings? heheh). Imagine, just the intro. I was wowed. I read the book in 8 hours. (We were in the hospital, that's why.).

I felt better after reading this book. I think it just takes a while for me to really live up my dreams. Or maybe I'm just like the glass merchant in the book. Just content of having a dream. I hope I can be as persevere as Santiago.

I don't wanna say anything anymore, I might cry. hehehe.

But if you are planning to buy a book, this is a good buy. I hope you guys will read it too.

I handed out several copies of this book to some of my well-deserving students. I was very moved that I wanted to spread the feeling.

Check out Paulo's other books. I loved each and every one of them.

Ganda din yan, Catcher in the Rye. Try mo rin other works by JDSalinger

hi Anne, hi Pen.

i did read "catcher in the rye" kaso di ko gaano na-absorb. my friend from work "forced" me to read it so i just read it as fast as i could and return the book, he's been asking if i finished it already. so ayun... nainis ako. lol.

but i will read it again.

Coelho has a new book? Eleven Minutes. I just saw it on the interview at the back of the book.

I think this is for you Anne, lol, instead of reading Kamasutra, maybe you can read this. It's about sexuality and spirituality. hehehe joke lang po.

I'll try to read more of Coelho's work and JD Salinger's.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Sweet is the memory of distant friends! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart.
