Stage Parents

john dale along with the participants during SCQ audition. they were sitting in front of the studio while waiting to be called for the 10-minute auditon.he was wearing his id number "795".

A lot of people often tell us that he'll get rich. Probably this drived us to bring him to Star Circle Quest Kid audition last Sunday, Mar. 5, 2006. Niño and I lined up for about 7 hours and waited him to get inside the studio for 2 more hours. Twas really exhausting and I must say the longest time I had to stand, literally and figuratively speaking.

Two days prior to the audition, he was hesitant. Fearing he might fail. I explained to him that it would be just fine if he gets in or not. And that the important thing here is that we try and for him to give his best. I am not exactly sure what would this particular activity might affect his personality in the future. But I want him to realize that it's not the winning that counts but the fighting instead. Inculcating this to a 5-y/o mind is yet questionable to me though.

And the audition proper began.

Parents were not allowed to accompany the kids towards the studio. We were just there, nervously waiting and praying that he do well. I am not expecting though that he might be picked but of course we're hoping. And I saw him in his usual wide smile and walking oblivious to the "real things" happening around him.

He was not picked. Kids are asked to dance and knowing him, I kinda knew why he wasn't chosen. Had he been asked to sing, his chance may have been big. That's the time I really felt the pain on my legs. Oh well...i hugged him and said that i was fine and he could try some other time or in the competing network.

The experience is worth the wait. We went there as a family and accepted the whole incident as a family.

Had to add this:

In this pic, John Dale and cousin Ella before we went to the audition. She was supposed to join but JD's rubber shoes rupture as we lined up. Apparently, Ella was wearing JD's sandals so she has she to take it off. Poor girl! She really wanted to dance and sing too!

Sweet is the memory of distant friends! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart.
